Pathology

At SNHRC hospitals, the department of Pathology offers timely and accurate histopathology, cytopathology and haematopathology services to various clinical specialties. Annually we receive a large number of histopathology, cytology and haematology specimens. Our lab is well equipped with automated machines to help in ultimately providing a good quality report.

Histopathology

Small biopsies and resections including cancerresections. Specialised pathology services including neuropathology, hepatopathology and dermatopathology are also available.

Histochemistry

A limited panel of special histochemical stains are available to aid us in histopathological diagnosis.
Cytology – Perform FNAC procedures. Reporting of FNAC samples including those done under radiology guidance. Thinprep 2000 processor is available for processing and reporting of fluid and exfoliative cytology including Pap smears.

Frozen Section

Intraoperative consultations are provided.
Immunohistochemistry – We have an automated Ventana Benchmark platform with atleast 30 plus antibodies to help us in diagnosing difficult histopathology cases and for prognostication purposes.

Haematopathology

We report peripheral smears and bone marrow aspirates.
