At SNHRC hospitals, the department of Pathology offers timely and accurate histopathology, cytopathology and haematopathology services to various clinical specialties. Annually we receive a large number of histopathology, cytology and haematology specimens. Our lab is well equipped with automated machines to help in ultimately providing a good quality report.
We do routine reporting of small biopsies and resection specimens (neoplastic and non – neoplastic resections).Specialized pathology services including GI pathology, uropathology, gynacopathology, and neuropathology.
We have a well-equipped grossing station APZEM FB400, an automated tissue processor Leica TP1020, an embedding station Leica EG1150C and a microtome machine Leica RM2235.
A limited panel of social immunohistochemical stains is available to aid us in histopathological diagnosis and also for therapeutic purposes.
We have an automated Ventana Benchmark platform for the same.
Reporting of non-guided and guided FNAC procedures, biliary brush cytology, fluid cytology, urine cytology, and PAP smears are done. Thin Prep 2000 processor is available for processing and reporting of fluid and exfoliative cytology including Pap smears.
Non-guided FNA procedures are carried out in the department.
Intraoperative consultations are provided. We have Leica cryostat CM1860.
We report routine peripheral smears.

Sunday: 9am - 1pm
